Attention CES Families of students who qualified for the Celebrate a Book Field Trip scheduled for Monday, May 6th- Field Trip Canceled!
We were hoping the timing of the incoming weather for tomorrow afternoon would be pushed back until students were home safe, but out of an abundance of caution, we are going to cancel tomorrow’s field trip to ensure students and staff are out of harm's way. We hope to be able to reschedule this trip and will keep families informed if we can make that happen!
The Central Raider Forensics season came to a close on Saturday, May 4th. Juniors, Payton Smith and Emma Jackson competed at the State Festival at Maize High School and received a II rating for their Improvised Duet Acting. Congratulations ladies!! The team had a tough draw as a veterinarian, fruit stand employee, talking on a cell phone, at a whale convention! They did a great job and we are proud of them for making it to state! We took the team to Kobe's Steakhouse after the performance and then to a local book store to pick out more poetry books for next year! Thank you for a great season Raiders!

The Central Jr/Sr High School Career & Technical Education Culinary Arts class traveled to Wichita to visit Saigon and an Asian Market on Wednesday, May 2nd. Here is a note from Junior, Ady Fagan about the trip!
"The trip to Saigon was a great experience. I learned so much about the Vietnamese culture. In history the juniors just learned about the Vietnam war so it was cool to relate it back to what we have been learning. The Saigon restaurant was originally half the size it is now, with half of it being a market and the other half being the restaurant. It is a family owned business owned by a husband and wife. The husband was a South Vietnamese soldier who fought long side the Americans. The husband was imprisoned because he fought with “the enemy.” He eventually escaped and got caught in Hong Kong, where him and his wife had their daughter. The couple had to leave their son behind because they couldn’t escape and worry about a child. They eventually made it over to America where they started working at the Saigon market. It truly was an incredible experience and I am so thankful for the staff for taking us on this trip. "
